In 1989 Nirvana signed upto Subpop records recording "Bleach" there. however Kurt became unhappy with Drummer Chad Channings drumming and fired him. They then met Dave grohl. With the trio finally together they hit major success with the album "Nevermind" which included the tracks "Smalls like teen spirit" "In bloom" and "come as you are". In 1989, Courtney love, Kurts future wife, maw Kurt at a show in Oregon. They formally met in 1991 at a concert in L.A. After some time together the pair got together and on August 18th 1992 The pair had their first and only child Frances Bean Cobain. The pair allegedly fought and argued over time and only bonded whilst taking Heroin. After recording "In utero" and doing the famous Unplugged acoustic set where he played covers such as Leadbellys "where did you sleep last night" and David Bowies "Man who sold the world" as well acoustic versions of Nirvana classics like "Come as you are" Kurt was having major problems... On March 1st 1994 whilst on tour in Germany Kurt was diagnosed with severe bronchitis. he flew to Rome for treatment on March 3rd, where Courtney met him. She awoke to find him overdosed on a cocktail of Rohypnol and Champagne. he flew back to seattle after 5 days in hospital, after an intervention with close friends and family Kurt agreed to go on a detox programme, He went to the Exodus recovery centre in LA but escaped on the first day of April, he went back home and after listening to R.E.M, Kurt took 3x the lethal amount of heroin and shot himself in the head with a shotgun. He was discovered on the 8th April by an electrician. On the 10th of April 1994, a public vigil was held which attracted 7,000 mourners, Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic and wife Courtney Love read out messages including Kurts suicide note. Courtney then gave some ofKurts clothes to some mourners. Kurt Donald Cobain was cremated, he died aged 27 joining the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Jim morrison and Janis Joplin in the "27 club". Throughout his school years, Kurt was precieved as an outsider by his classmates and often distanced himself from them. In 1986, Nirvana was formed after a slew of failed bands were dead. Nirvana consisted of Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic and numerous drummers inclulding Chad Channing and his permanent replacement Dave Grohl. In 1989, Nirvana recorded it's first album, intitled Bleach, for the local label, Sup Pop Records. In 1991, The David Geffen company bought out Nirvana's contract, and the band was signed to Geffen Records. Two and a half years after the release of their first album, Bleach, Nirvana released thier second album, and their most popular, Nevermind. It left a lasting impression on the mainstream music scene. To it's listeners, Nirvana was a breath of fresh air, pulling itself aside from the then stale pop music scene. Nevermind brought in over $550 million dollars, leaving Nirvana "overnight millionares." It was clear that Kurt did not enjoy the fame and publicity and was not going to cope well with their newly acclaimed Rock and Roll lifestyle. Cobian began to use heroin in the early 90's, he claimed to use Herion to calm the pain of his extremely painful stomach disease, that to this day, is unclassified. In 1992, Nirvana released Incesticide and Kurt married the allready pregnant Courtney Love, (their daughter Frances Bean Cobain was born in 1993.) In 1993, Nirvana released In Utero, their most emotional and meaningful album to date. Nirvana later filmed Unplugged for MTV. It was an all acoustic preformance, that inclulded some of Nirvana's smash hits, but most of their lesser known songs, as well as some covers of Nirvana's favorite bands. Unplugged was the last live preformance that Nirvana had before Kurt Cobain died in 1994. Many speculate that Kurts death was suicide, other's blame his wife, Courtney Love, for his murder. Either way, his fans will remember him forever. His music will never die.

Kurt Cobain, in my oppinion is one of the most talented songwriters in music history. His voice is infectious and completely unique. I know that he will never be forgotten.

Just pointing out some things about Kurt's death that haven't really been brought up (at least not as much). I'm not gonna write down the many, many facts and details contributing to the murder theory. Just gonna name some things that have come to mind. 1. Kurt's sense of humor: Kurt had a very dark sense of humor. This is evident in songs like "I Hate Myself and Want To Die." While Kurt brought up suicide a good deal, he wasn't actually a suicidal guy who hated life. He mentioned in the "About A Son" interviews that he often looked depressed and angry when in fact he was in a good mood. This is just his natural expression. He liked to have fun, and if you watch videotapes of him with the band, you can see he's obviously a very humorous, light-hearted person, not the depressed, morose person he is often made out to be. 2. Kurt's relationship with Courtney: Kurt was very much in love with Courtney and defended her early on in the relationship. But as time went on, things began to change. Kurt, who was Bipolar, began to form a tumultuous love/hate relationship with her. He was on the verge of divorcing her, prior to his suicide (which would have lost Courtney a lot of his money). 3. Kurt's songwriting: I believe that two of his songs have messages singling out or referring to his broken relationship with Courtney. First, in "All Apologies" he mentions the lines "married/buried" in the chorus. All Apologies itself could be a song denoting his perceived failure in their relationship, perhaps his way of saying he feels its not working out. Kurt didn't like to express his thoughts and emotions upfront, and they often seeped into his songwriting and performances. Secondly, refer to the lyrics in "You Know You're Right," the last song Kurt wrote, prior to his death. The lyrics include "never speak a word again/I will crawl away for good"; this could reference his plan to divorce her. "No thought was put into this/I always knew it would come to this" could reference his increasing wish to leave the marriage. More lines from the song: - "I'm so warm and calm inside/ I no longer have to hide" Perhaps he felt happy of his plans to retire from music, and he'd no longer have to hide the fact that he hated performing (mentioned in the "suicide" note) - "Nothing really bothers her/ she just wants to love herself" Again referencing the chaos of their relationship - "I will move away from here/ you won't ever have to fear" Again, expresses his desire to leave Courtney and the music business. "You know you're right" Perhaps Kurt is talking to himself with these lines, reassuring himself that his plans are the right ones. Or, possibly, a sarcastic attack at Courtney. It seems a little suspicious that Courtney so vehemently wanted this song to NOT be released after Kurt's death. She performed a live version of the song, changing some of the lyrics as well. It seems Courtney had something to hide about this song.... 4. Drug use: Many people have blamed Kurt's death on his drug use. However, despite his use, he was known for being anti-drugs. He stated this in the "About A Son" interviews. Kurt smoked marijuana recreationally, but only used heroin as a means of alleviating the pain of his stomach condition, caused by scoliosis. 5. Courtney's relationship with Billy Corgan: Before dating Kurt, Courtney had a relationship with Smashing Pumpkin's frontman Billy Corgan. While the details of speculation that Courtney cheated on Kurt with Billy when she dated him isn't fully known, this could possibly have caused a riff in the Kurt/Courtney relationship (also, it is possible that Billy was a factor in Courtney's possible desire to kill Kurt). Courtney and Billy have recently been seen together. These are just a few lesser known opinions (strictly opinions and theories - the truth is yet fully known) of mine. I hope they've offered insight.

Only insecure, unopinionated, dumb people listen to music to achieve some certain kind of status. The reasons for loving or hating Kurt himself (or even worse: Courtney Love) on the other hand, seem much more superficial and badly argued than those for loving the music and are often based only on the image of him/her created by the media.

Frontman of the vastly overhyped Grunge Band Nirvana. His songwriting style was nonsensical and incoherent. He was -not- a good guitarist. He used 3 or 4 four guitar chords for every song, buried under half a dozen guitar effects. Having witnessed and heard enough truly talented musicians play, one can plainly see that Kurt Cobain's skills were minimal at best. As it is, the only reason Kurt Cobain and Nirvana are so highly regarded is because Kurt Cobain committed suicide in 1994. This will automatically inflate ANY singer/musician/songwriter's popularity, and cause their actual talent to be greatly exaggerated, as is the case with Kurt Cobain. Nirvana was a -decent- band, with their ability exaggerated after the suicide of its frontman. That's all.

The biggest waste of space ever, he was a useless cunt who had no talent so I am glad he realised this and killed himself\! A worthless stoner who wrote songs about all his "trips" which anyone could have done. He was an extremely amateur guitarist despite what all you Nirvana jerk-off fans think. Just try to play any of their songs and you will see how easy they are(and badly written). The first song I learned on guitar was smells like teen spirit and I learned it in 15 minutes, solo(lol-what a joke) and all\!\!\! If he hadn't killed himself/been murdered his band would have completely failed by now and he would not be remembered the way that he is now, but as a total failure\!\!\!
